デヴィッド・ゲッケラー（David Geckeler）とフランク・ミヘルス（Frank Michels）によって2013年に設立されたベルリンを拠点とするデザインスタジオ、「ゲッケラー・ミヘルス（GECKELER MICHELS）」の作品集。2025年5月から6月にかけて「Karimoku Commons Tokyo」で開催した展覧会「GECKELER MICHELS Dialogues」に伴い刊行された。

1984年にスイスのシェルツィンゲンに生まれたデヴィッド・ゲッケラーと、ルクセンブルク生まれのフランク・ミヘルスによって設立された同スタジオは、家具、照明、プロダクト、空間デザインなどを主に手がけている。二者はドイツとルクセンブルクにルーツを持つデザインデュオとして、過去のデザイン史や現代技術、デジタルデザインの手法を意図的に取り入れながら、新たな機能主義のあり方を革新的な立場から提示している。

「ゲッケラー・ミヘルス」にとって初の刊行物となる本書は、モノグラフ、雑誌、そしてデザイン論集としてのパンフレットの要素を横断する形で制作されている。膨大なイメージ群が流れるように展開する自由な構成を用い、スタジオが持つデザイン哲学とその舞台裏にある制作プロセスを独自の視点で紹介している。収録されたプロジェクトには、「フレデリシア（Fredericia）」、「カリモク ニュー スタンダード（Karimoku New Standard）」、「ムート（Muuto）」、「ネスプレッソ（Nespresso）」、「ナイキ（Nike）」、「テクタ（Tecta）」、「ズッカ（ZUCCa）」など、国内外のクライアントのために制作された作品が含まれている。

プロダクトデザイナーのボリス・ベルリン（Boris Berlin）、同じくプロダクトデザイナーのアクセル・クーフス（Axel Kufus）、インダストリアルデザイナーのヘルマン・ヴァイゼネッガー（Hermann Weizenegger）、そしてアーティストでありデザイナーのロナン・ブルレック（Ronan Bouroullec）との対談も収録し、デザイン業界における多角的な視点を提示している。

This first book from GECKELER MICHELS navigates between a monograph, a magazine, and a pamphlet of design discourse. Dialogues offers a unique insight into the studio’s design philosophy and its behind-the-scenes process, through a vast collection of images, freely arranged in an engaging flow. Featured projects were created for clients such as Fredericia, Karimoku New Standard, Muuto, Nespresso, Nike, Tecta, and ZUCCa. Conversations with renowned designers Boris Berlin, Axel Kufus, Hermann Weizenegger, and Ronan Bouroullec offer meaningful perspectives on the design industry.
