2G No. 95 BAUKUNST
スペイン発の建築雑誌「2G Magazine」第95号。本号では、ベルギーを拠点とし、アドリアン・ヴェルシュエール（Adrien Verschuere）が2010年にブリュッセルで設立、2017年にはスイス・ローザンヌ（スイス）にも事務所を展開する建築スタジオ「BAUKUNST」を特集する。アドリアン・ヴェルシュエールは、「Office for Metropolitan Architecture（OMA）」、「ヘルツォーク＆ド・ムーロン（Herzog & de Meuron / HdM）」の所属を経て同事務所を創設、名称は、「Bau（建築）」と「Kunst（思考）」から由来している。
本書で記されるのは、芸術とテクノロジー、建築行為と建築をめぐる新たな思考を結びつける建築実践への洞察である。その実践は、常に高度な抽象性を保ってきた。プロジェクトは理論的提案として始まり、現場で実現されるか否かにかかわらず、その性質を保持し続ける。実現したものも未完のものも、いずれも建築家たちが繰り返し立ち戻る、ある種のプラトン的空間のなかに存在している。
本号に収録された作品群は、単なるアーカイヴではなく、リサーチ・アトラスとして構成されている。建築図面、現場写真、模型、デジタルイメージのモンタージュを通じて、各プロジェクトのなかで萌芽し、検証されてきた潜在的なアイデアが示される。
Insights into an architectural practice that combines art and technology, building and new ideas on building
Baukunst's architectural practice has always maintained a high level of abstraction. Projects begin as theoretical propositions and remain so, regardless of their realisation on site. Built or unbuilt, they all exist within some kind of Platonic space to which the architects keep returning. The selection of works featured in this issue is not an archive of their work, but rather a research atlas in which the montage of architectural drawings, site photographs, models, and digital images speaks of the latent ideas germinated and tested across their projects.
