アメリカ人コンセプチュアルアーティスト、ローレンス・ウェイナー（Lawrence Weiner）の作品集。2013年3月から6月にかけてスペインの「バルセロナ現代美術館（Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona / MACBA）」、2013年9月から2014年1月にかけてオランダの「アムステルダム市立美術館（Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam）」で開催された展覧会に伴い刊行された。
本書は、作者の紙作品に焦点を当てたものである。ドローイングはその長いキャリアを通じて重要な位置を占めており、本書はそうした紙上の仕事の軌跡をたどることを主な目的としている。
インスタレーションの計画図や書籍のレイアウト案、メモが記されたノートから、自立した作品として制作されたドローイングまで、作者による紙作品は幅広い。その全体像は、作者が世界をどのように見ていたのかを示すと同時に、その仕事の核心を理解するための手がかりを与えてくれる。
作者は、ベルギーを拠点に活動するグラフィックデザイナーであるフィリップ・タック（Filiep Tacq）との協働により、本書の図版セクションを構成した。そこには120点を超えるドローイングが収録されており、身振りを思わせるグラフィックの連なりの中に配置されることで、ひとつの物語を備えた「描かれた章」として展開されている。
また、本書にはキャスリン・チオン（Kathryn Chiong）、グレゴール・シュテムリヒ（Gregor Stemmrich）、ソレダッド・グティエレス（Soledad Gutiérrez）による論考を収録。それぞれ異なる視点から、作者のドローイング作品の多様な側面を考察している。

This catalogue focuses on Lawrence Weiner's works on paper. Drawing has been an important part of his extensive career, and the primary focus of this catalogue is to trace his works on paper. Weiner's drawing oeuvre, ranging from notebooks containing installation plans, book layouts and notes, to formal drawing works, providing insight into the artist's view of the world, and thus, into the core of his work. Weiner designed a plate section for Written on the Wind in collaboration with book designer Filiep Tacq, which consists of more than 120 drawings presented within sequences of gestural graphics to provide a narrative, "drawn" chapter. Essays by Kathryn Chiong, Gregor Stemmrich and Soledad Gutiérrez cover contrasting aspects of Weiner's drawings range.
